(Mostly) Raw Vegan Fast
As weather begins to warm, I would like to step into deeper healing with a raw vegan fast. I have learned through this healing journey that fasting or detoxifying at least twice a year is an important, healing habit given the toxicity of our food system, water, environment, homes..., even when we are regularly intentional to avoid these toxins. I will be following Dr. Robert Morse Level 1 detox eating protocol shown below.

I am calling this a "mostly" raw vegan fast because you can see that steamed or baked vegetables and vegetable soups are welcomed at the evening meal if you would like. However, keeping it completely raw will deepen the detox.
Fats, even, healthy fats, slow the detoxification process, so you will see that only avocado is included. Extra virgin olive oil, olives, raw sunflower or pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds can, also, be included, according to my healing clinic, Spirit of Health, but in small amounts.
I have been on my healing journey for a solid 3 years now. My overall health is so much better than when I began. I have been off all pharmaceuticals for about 3 years, also. It is the damage done by the pharmaceuticals that I am still seeking to repair, such as weakened adrenals, a destroyed gut biome, a congested lymphatic system, a congested liver and an overall weakened immune system that gave ground to the overgrowth of bad bacteria, parasites, and fungus.
Overuse of pharmaceuticals and antibiotics strips the body of Life, so it's left weak and vulnerable to the overgrowth of microorganisms that are designed to take over where waste and toxins have accumulated, like in my body 3-4 years ago.
Self-educate and be careful, if true Healing is what you are after. I learned the hard way how destructive pharmaceuticals are.
I personally have no desire to loose weight, and a raw vegan fast is great for weight loss, so I will start with a 3 day fast. If I can maintain weight, I will go 5 days. If I continue to maintain, I will fast 7 days. The Life-force in live, raw foods is what I am after. Live-foods are full of good bacteria for gut health as wells as healthy enzymes for digestion. Live foods = energy to heal deeper at the cellular level. Give me more!:) If you personally are feeling great and want to keep going, Spirit of Health recommends continuing up to 40 days with this fast for maximum healing benefits!
As with any detox, it is essential that your bowels are moving. As I've heard many healing professionals say, 1 meal in, 1 meal out. So especially during a detox, it is healthy to have 3 or more bowel movements per day. One does not want to be backed up anytime, but especially during a fast when the body's digestive process is lightened so it can release toxins more easily. You want to release those toxins as soon as possible and safely.
If you need help clearing out the bowels during a fast, consider enemas. They are inexpensive and powerful to aid in the healing process, and they reduce detox symptoms greatly because the toxins are not staying trapped in the colon.

You will get much of your daily water through the raw plants, during this fast. Raw fruits and vegetables are the perfect, ideal way to hydrate. You do not need to force hydration with this fast, but if you are thirsty, have filtered water or herbal tea.
As for movement, keep it kind and gentle so your body can focus more on detoxing without stress. Move daily, but consider stretching, a leisurely walk, gentle rebounding. Even consider conserving your energy for detoxing but intentionally getting sunshine and grounding yourself to the earth. The Healing benefits are phenomenal simply connecting your bare skin to nature. Look into it.♡

If you find raw, live plants difficult to digest, more digestive strength and fire need to be built. If you can relate here, continue the fast, but lightly steam or bake your vegetables for ease of digestion. You will still gain lots of Healing benefits!
A final word for now.♡ Preparing is good and important, but life does throw challenges. Be kind through the process. If you get off the rails a bit, just dust yourself off and get back on track. Keep doing it and you'll get better and better at what you're aiming for--deeper Healing, deeper Life, deeper Energy.
