Simple Non-Toxic Deodorant

In 2014, my sister-in-law gave me a jar of her homemade deodorant. It was my first time trying such. Surprisingly, it worked, and it's simple, clean ingredients many of us have handy in our kitchen and home. I've been making it since for 10 years.

Pleasantly, when I'm in a natural grocery store and I look at their deodorants, I find their effective ingredients are comparable with this recipe, but usually this is even cleaner. A quality, non-toxic deodorant these days costs about $7-10. Because these ingredients are handy in our home, it costs me about a dollar to make, and the jarful lasts me about a year.

Go "food-grade" baking soda. If you put it on you or in you, you want food-grade. All baking sodas are not processed and packaged the same. Unrefined coconut oil and high quality essential oils in the scents you enjoy make this a lovely product to enjoy everyday.

Homemade Deodorant

Ingredients:

*1/3 cup unrefined coconut oil

* 2 TBSP food-grade baking soda

*1/3 cup arrow root powder

15-20 drops of essential oil (such as, lavender, bergamot, grapefruit, orange, geranium, sage...)

Mix all ingredients thoroughly together. Store in a clean jar. Rub a small finger scoop into each arm pit when deodorant is needed. Enjoy!

Blessed Healing,

Amy Luella
