rembering northern wyoming {in pictures}
this past weekend we had the pleasure of seeing northern wyoming for the first time. our 15 year old + her softball team joined sixteen 16u teams for a tournament. the summer temperatures were beautiful, the wind-gusts were crazy strong! enjoying these long june days together outdoors was a very sweet change of pace. our softball ladies won their first 4 games + lost their last 2. so many good moments of personal accomplishment, personal grit, team work + sportsmanship, left all of us with smiles. below are some pictures from our wyoming weekend:
(we played + walked in the lovely local dalbey park in gillette, wyoming our first night)
(the cottonwoods were "snowing")
(our AF found a western painted turtle at dalbey)
(morning of H's first game, we visited + hiked around a beautiful national monument called devils tower)
(the unique land is sacred to native americans + the lovely sight of prayer cloths were tied to trees all throughout our hike)
(AD finding a great breaking spot on the trail)
(us 5 at the end of the trail)
(poor quality shot, but i want to remember: this was their 4th game of the their 15-hour-day + the wind was SO strong, dirt + sand were
getting stired-up all over! they lost, but their work in the midst of the challenge was great. one of H's most beautiful outs of the weekend was catching in this game a very high wind-moving pop-fly near center-field)
(while the ladies played their wind-crazy game under the lights, many siblings played basketball together)
(H + her team "breaking it down" together after their last loss)
(so grateful for these ladies + their families! can you spy H?)
(cuties.♡ for a few families that stayed one more night, the children swam while the parents relaxed + visited.)
thank you, wyoming, for a blustery but lovely weekend of softball + beautiful nature.♡
