during this time of pause (+ reset?)

(cross bills crowding in our little bird bath)

i hope this finds you walking thru this unique time well. if you feel vulnerable or fearful because of underlying health conditions, focus on cleansing, detoxifying + building up your immune system--it is the key to health. when cleansed + strong, our bodies are designed to deal with viruses + such beautifully. ayurveda is a wonderful life + health science to look into for healing guidance. it has stood the test of time for thousands of years, and has been a beautiful piece to reversing chronic sickness for me.

there have been many good things come out of this slow-down these past few months. for me one big joy has been reading more books for pleasure than i have in many years! i am adding ayn rand, the russian-american writer + philosopher, to my future read-list after recently reading this, her quote from the late 1960s:

what we need today, what i call the "new intellectual," would be any man or woman who is willing to think, meaning: any man or woman who knows that man's life must be guided by reason, by the intellect, not by feelings, wishes, whims, or mystic revelations, any man or woman who values his life and does not want to give in to today's cult of despair, cynicism and impotence and does not intend to give up the world to the Dark Ages and to the rule of the collectivist brutes,...

there are so many worthy books and authors out there; i look forward to making more of them apart of my days, for my betterment and for opening up my perspective to walk through these challenging days with my "neighbors" and our nation with more wisdom + understanding, by God's Grace.

(its details are dreamy)

to remember this unique time of pause (+ reset or deeper healing, i hope) i will "summarize" my last few months a bit below. please consider answering some or all of these yourself. share in the comments or tag me on your social media, i'd love to hear from you:

learned something new: the enneagram--learned about all the numbers, strengths, weaknesses, allowing me to see my mom, dad, sister, brother, my husband, our children, and myself with new eyes--what a special tool i hope to continue growing in!

favorite radio station: van morrison on pandora (he's so good:))

favorite spring meal: cauliflower leek soup

favorite spring fruit: grapefruit

favorite drinks: matcha green tea and homemade limeades with stevia

favorite show with the family: the masked singer + america's got talent

adding loveliness + life to the days: gardening

favorite local spring animal: calves (a lot of ranches around us:))

a disappointment: not getting to watch our son play baseball with his friends + teammates because of a cancelled season (they had such a fun, good year of ball last year)

a surprising blessing: getting to do a "book club" with my college roommate and friend weekly during this time--the book adorning the dark by andrew peterson has been very sweet, as well as the sharing with her!

(well, hello there.:) all these photos were taken by our 15 year old this week.)

for strength + health: making time in the healing-sunshine, grounding, and country walks

favorite quote: have the courage to deal with your own weeds.

blessed Healing to us all,
amy luella
